Strictly limited edition of 500 numbered boxsets only.
The Small Faces summer celebrations continue with a new deluxe boxset collecting all the band’s classic Immediate 7-inch singles from 1967-1969. Repressed from the original Immediate Records master tapes and housed in a lavish hard-shell boxset, the new set forms a companion piece to the ‘Decca Singles 1965-1967’ boxset.
All boxsets feature photographer Gered Mankowitz’s famous 1967 “v-signs” shot of the Small Faces, deliberately set up by Immediate label boss Andrew Loog Oldham straight after Ian McLagan’s marijuana bust so Oldham could capture “all the rage” from Mac. Each boxset will be individually numbered 1-500 and not repressed.
Every 7-inch single released by Immediate Records will be reissued in a rare picture sleeve from Belgium, France, Italy, Germany and The Netherlands during 1967 to 1969. ‘Mad John’, originally released in the USA and Australia without a picture sleeve, features a new design by Phil Smee and includes original ‘Mad John’ artwork by Nick Tweddell from the Small Faces No.1 album ‘Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake’. Also included is a facsimile of the rarest Small Faces record, ‘Album Sampler’, a one-sided promotional single for the band’s debut LP on Immediate Records — featuring excerpts from ‘Get Yourself Together’, ‘Green Circles’, ‘Talk To You’, ‘All Our Yesterdays’ and ‘Up The Wooden Hills To Bedfordshire’, narrated by DJ Tommy Vance, in a reproduction of a 1967 Immediate Records sleeve.
Each boxset will include a lavishly-illustrated 16-page booklet with rare photos, original memorabilia and full track-by-track information for each Immediate single A and B side. Mastered to vinyl by Nick Robbins from the original Immediate master tapes, with graphic design and artwork by Phil Smee and curated by surviving Small Faces member, Kenney Jones.
