Town And Country

Town And Country is Humble Pie's second album, released by Immediate Records on 7 November 1969, barely three months after their debut. It was rush-released while the label fought for cash, then pulled from UK shops four months after going on sale when Immediate collapsed. It was never released in the USA at all.

Side one carries a song written by each member of the band, and the record is quieter and more reflective than the debut, with folk and country threads running through live favourite ‘The Sad Bag Of Shaky Jake’ and three-part harmonies closing the album on ‘Home And Away’.

Newly remastered for this Nice Records reissue, after decades of versions cut from old vinyl. Available as a limited numbered 180-gram white vinyl web exclusive, standard black vinyl, and an expanded CD. Shindig! gave it 4/5, Classic Rock 8/10.
