The first reviews are in for 'Small Faces – Decca Singles 1965–1967' - and the critics agree: this is how a reissue should be done.
Five Stars from Shindig!
Shindig! — the magazine that lives and breathes this era better than anyone — has awarded the boxset a full five stars.
"As crunchy, powerful and affecting as ever" — Shindig!
It's recognition that this set gets the details right: the original master tapes, the replica sleeves, the labels, the lot.
8/10 in Classic Rock
Classic Rock magazine has weighed in too, scoring the set an impressive 8/10 and declaring it:
"Small but perfectly formed" — Classic Rock
We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
Why the fuss?
For those just catching up: the boxset collects all eight original Small Faces singles released on Decca between 1965 and 1967 - from 'Whatcha Gonna Do About It' onwards - repressed on 7-inch vinyl from the original Decca master tapes.
Each hard-shell box contains:
- All eight Decca-era singles on 7-inch vinyl
- Replica original sleeves and labels
- A lavishly illustrated booklet with rare photos, memorabilia and track-by-track notes
- Individual numbering - strictly limited to 500 copies, never to be repressed
Mastered by Nick Robbins from the original tapes and curated by surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones, it's a labour of love from the people who care most about getting it right.
Last few copies remaining
Here's the catch: the reviews have arrived just as stock is running out. With only 500 numbered boxsets ever made — and no repress, ever — we're down to the final few copies.
If the critics have convinced you, don't wait for a second pressing. There isn't one.
